Here is our crepe recipe:
(This recipe is 100% from my dad’s high school cooking class lol. But it is awesome!)
What you'll need:
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp melted butter
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together. Add rest of ingredients. Mix until smooth with a beater. Lightly butter an eight inch round frying pan. Heat over medium heat until butter is bubbly. Then add 1/4 cup of batter. Immediately rotate pan until batter covers the bottom of pan. When lightly browned on first side, flip it to brown on the second side. Then you are done!
There is your guide to make the perfect crepe! Here are some fun things to fill it with.
Butter and sugar
This is a classic crepe combo. If you are on the streets of Paris and want a crepe, there are good chances this is what you will get. It sounds simple, but really is perfect. Don’t knock this one before you try it! (Plus it’s my favorite crepe combo ever so you should definitely have one for me 😊)
Mixed berry crepe
If you like fruit, this is the crepe for you! For this mixed berry crepe we started with whipped cream and then added raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries! Then as a garnish we added another dollop of whipped cream and some mint. It was refreshing and so good.
This crepe is a unique combo that we tried out! The flavors are so nostalgic and take us back to eating cinnamon sugar toast as kids. It’s another simple recipe where you just butter the crepe and add cinnamon sugar. It tastes just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal! (This is one was Natalie’s fav!) You can add a little whipped cream as well which will really take it to the next level.
Nutella and strawberries
Another classic combo is Nutella and strawberries. This mix has everything that you need- chocolatey goodness and fresh strawberries. What more could you ask for?!
Peaches and cream
This crepe combo was VERY unexpected but was amazingggggg. We put down a layer of greek yogurt, added cut up peaches, and drizzled honey on top. It was sweet, tart, and creamy. I would definitely recommend this crepe. It might sound weird, but it works!
We hope you enjoy these crepe combos and that they make your brunch party extra special. Let us know which one was your favorite!
