At Home Parties: A Fancy Night In

This spring is definitely a little unusual. With the coronavirus spreading it can be really easy to get in a rut. But we are here to help inspire you to keep living your life to the fullest and to try new things! This blog post is all about how to have a fancy evening at home with your family or roommates. Social distancing is super important right now, so this will be the perfect thing to make your night special and like you are really going out on the town!

Make a Fancy Dinner!

Even though ingredients at the store are currently a little limited, it’s time to challenge yourself to make a nice meal with things you already have in your kitchen. My family got fancy last night and made chicken piccata! Let us know what you end up making!

Dress up.

Let’s face it, right now we are all rocking the sweat pant and t-shirt look a little too often. Take some time to get dressed up, do your hair/makeup, and you will feel like a new person! It is fun to feel good about yourself and we all need a little of that right about now.

Pick an activity or two to make the night extra special!

In these trying times lots of companies have made it easy to enjoy fun activities from home. Here are some options for your fancy night in:

Museum Tours:

I LOVE a good museum and it is so sad that all of them have had to temporarily close down because of this pandemic. The good news is that lots of them have virtual tours and ways to view their art digitally. This is the perfect artsy activity for your upscale evening!

Here are some of the most famous ones available:

The Louvre-

The British Museum-

Smithsonian Museum of Natural History-

The Guggenheim-

Broadway Shows:

If you are a theatre person, this is a MUST! There is this awesome website called BroadwayHD that has recordings of past Broadway shows available to watch at home. The quality is amazing and it almost feels like you’re really in the theater watching! They have musicals like Kinky Boots, The Falsettos, and She Loves me. I highly recommend it. There is a free 7 day trial and then is only $8.99 a month. Here is the link:

Opera & Ballet:

If you are into opera or ballet, you’ll definitely want to plan your fancy night at home around one of these free performances being streamed by the Royal Opera House. They are sure to be amazing!

Watch free performances on their Youtube channel here at the scheduled times below:

Peter and the Wolf, The Royal Ballet, 2010 – 27 March 2020, 7pm GMT

Go make an account and get watching! They really are amazing. Here is their website with all of the information:

We are so excited for you to have a fancy evening at home to add some spice to your social-distancing life. Have fun and let us know how it goes!
